Plan of Salvation

Are you going to Heaven when you die, or do you have some doubt?

Friend, this is life’s most important question.

It is not a question of how good you are, whether you attend church, or how much money you donate to charitable causes. It is a question about where you will spend eternity. The Bible was written for us to know how to have our sins forgiven and have the perfect understanding of where we will spend eternity. God says that in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). If you have any doubt at all about where you will spend eternity, please read further and allow us to show you the five steps to take in order to reach heaven.

1) Understand that you are a sinner.

Romans 3:10 – “As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one.”

Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

The Bible tells us that we all miss the standard by which God judges our lives. We fall short to what is required to be in perfect fellowship with Him. That requirement isperfection! Do you believe you are absolutely perfect? Certainly no one would admit that. However, many believe that they are good enough. Sin is what causes us to be separated from God, and in order to get into Heaven one day, we must admit that we all are sinners.

2) Understand there is a penalty for your sin.

Romans 6:23a  – “For the wages of sin is death…”

That word “wages” simply means “a paycheck” or “what you deserve.” After we admit that we are a sinner, it is important to know and understand what happens to a sinner. You see, a sinner cannot enjoy the pleasures of Heaven but unfortunately has to endure the wrath of God poured out on sin in a place called Hell. The word “death” not only means a physical death but is referred to in the Bible as the “second death” or being eternally separated from a Holy God.

Dear friend, Hell is no laughing matter or a figment of any man’s imagination. Hell is a literal place where Satan and his demons will spend eternity. Sad to say, many millions of people never dealt with the sin in their lives and forever they are separated from God in a place called Hell. Don’t let your sin be the reason you miss Heaven.

3 )Understand that Jesus paid the penalty of sin for you!

Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Dear friend, God is a Holy God, and He cannot let any sin get into His wonderful Heaven. Yet, God is a loving God who made a way for you and all mankind to escape the torments of Hell. God is not unjust or unloving, but rather, by sending His only Son, the Lord Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins, He proved His great love to us. The Bible tells us that not a greater love has ever been shown to any people as what was done by God for the sins of the whole world. God really loves you and He proved it to you by paying the price of your sin!

4) Understand that salvation is a free gift!

Romans 6:23b – “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Yes, that’s right! Free! The greatest and most expensive gift that was given was the death of Jesus Christ on the behalf of the sins of the entire world. His death was a gift to us – sinners in need of salvation.
Dear friend, you cannot give money enough, attend church enough , live righteous enough, be baptized enough, nor be a “good” citizen enough to get to heaven. Being a Christian is not something you do; it is trusting what has already been done! Salvation is complete and offered to all people. It is for “whosoever”! Dear friend, that means you! In order to get into heaven, you must simply receive the free gift that God is offering to you today!

You may be asking, “How do I receive such a gift?”

5) You must turn from your sin and trust Jesus to save you.

Romans 10:13 – “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

That word “call” is the idea of someone drowning all alone in the water, struggling for their next breath while trying to stay alive. With all their strength, they call out for someone to come to their rescue. They realize that they are helpless and have to have the help of another. My friend, salvation is a matter of you understanding that only One Person can rescue you out of the sin that you are drowning in. That Person is Jesus. If you call out to Him, according to God’s Word, He will save you! He will rescue you. He will pull you out of the sin that is leading you to eternal separation from God.

Now this is your part!

1. Believe
Acts 16:31-“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”
2. Repent (Turn from your sins)
Luke 13:3- “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
3. Confess your sin to Jesus
I Timothy 2:5- “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
4. Confess Jesus before other people
Romans 10:11- “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

Pray this Prayer:

“Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I understand that because of this, I only deserve to go to a place called Hell. Thank You for dying on the cross so I could be saved. Thank You for raising Yourself from the dead so I can know what it means to be victorious over the sin that is in my life. Today, I seek your forgiveness and willingly turn from my sin. I receive you as my Savior and trust in Your work on Calvary. Help me as I begin my new life in You. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.”
